 We started working together in 1997 at South Coast Medical Center in the Genesis unit located in Laguna Beach, California. It was a small unit, a small staff, but had a big heart. The two of us facilitated the evening outpatient program for over 10 years and it is safe to say that we make a great team. We had often been asked by our peers and patients why we hadn't opened up a program of our own. The answer was simple - fear!! Like most addicts and alcoholics we were afraid of change.

In September of 2007 we were approached by two peers we had worked with in the past. They wanted us to develop an evening Chemical Dependency component for their eating disorder program - Discovery Paths. Though we were unable to combine the two, they encouraged us to continue with our dream. So we made the decision to start Embrace Recovery and everything fell into place very quickly and we opened our doors in February of 2008. We love working with addicts and alcoholics and it is our goal to help them have hope again and reclaim their lives. We like to think of Embrace Recovery as "The Little program with a Big heart."
